Whenever I hear this song sadness engulfs me. I was in college and was only 19 years old when Princess Diana died in a car accident on 1997. She was a Princess which spent most of her life helping people, showing care and love to those in need, showing and giving hope to victims of AIDS, war and more. For me she was simply the best Princess that walk over this Earth. She was a candle in the wind that had endured many hardships but tried her best to make her light shone upon many people. She was a person that showed loved to others, hunger for love by her husband Prince Charles but earned the love of the whole world.

Goodbye England's Rose (Candle in the Wind)

Bill Clinton, even has this to say about Diana...

In 1987, when so many still believed that AIDS could be contracted through casual contact, Princess Diana sat on the sickbed of a man with AIDS and held his hand. She showed the world that people with AIDS deserve no isolation, but compassion and kindness. It helped change the world's opinion, and gave hope to people with AIDS.

Princess Diana best emotional tribute ever

MY PEOPLE RATING:
  • Popularity: 10
  • Influence: 9

On 31 August 1997, Diana died after a high speed car crash in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris along with Dodi Al-Fayed and the acting security manager of the Hôtel Ritz Paris, Henri Paul, who was instructed to drive the hired Mercedes-Benz through Paris secretly eluding the paparazzi. Their black 1994 Mercedes-Benz S280 (registration no. 688 LTV 75) crashed into the thirteenth pillar of the tunnel. The two-lane tunnel was built without metal barriers in front of the pillars, so a slight change in vehicle direction could easily result in a head-on collision with a tunnel pillar. None of the four occupants wore seat belts.

During her funeral millions and even billions of people mourned her death and join the procession to lay her to rest. Elton John performed a song which had touched many people. Princess Diana will live forever in the hearts of those whose life she had touched and to those who will continue to share the stories about her.

While wondering around YouTube I found this trailer of a proposed movie about the book authored by Stephen King. The author of the video's main objective is to catch the attention of the owner of the rights of the story who happens to be Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy.

Personally I am impressed with the video above. Tell me what you think? Are you impressed too? Send in your comments...

Among the key players who lent their support to this project are Cameron Bright (X-Men: The Last Stand, Birth) who starred in the leading role, the Montreal-based company Buzz Image (300; The Aviator) who created the visual effects. The scene was shot in two days.

The Dark Knight Definitely Not For Kids, Review Says.

"This film is not for children, and I would discourage parents from taking anyone under 12 to see this movie. 'The Dark Knight' offers a glimpse into the darker places within each of us, which might be cathartic for some, but others will simply be afraid." This was writes Jim Pappas of The Trades.com which was one of the reviews cited on an article by Yahoo! Kids.

True to my first impression that the name itself 'Dark Knight' reveals the alternative view of Batman. In fact there was even a darker version of this in which Batman does not believe in just putting criminals to jail but ending their lives so that they cannot harm society again. Heath Ledger's portrayal of Batman's nemesis, 'The Joker' had added to the darkness of this movie.

I have not watched 'The Dark Knight' yet but based on the reviews cited by Yahoo! Kids, I will definitely reconsider taking my eldest kid who is 10 years old to watch this movie. Well definitely I will watch it first then see if my kids could watch it too.

Will give you my ratings once I watch it.

Mr, Bean is the Number 1 Comedy TV Series of All Time

I really love Mr. Bean and this silent, funny and wacky character always makes me laugh out of my seat. Rowan Atkinson had been very successful in playing as Mr. Bean in fact he had to let go of the character because it almost stole his real identity. Mr. Bean was an iconic figure of comedy... even more iconic than Forrest Gump.

Knight Rider will finally be seen once again on television. Teens of the 80s will sure remember the series featuring David Husselhoff as Michael Knight driving the famous K.I.T.T. or Knight Industries Two Thousand. This September 24th, 2008 NBC will be releasing the TV Series for Knight Rider featuring the new KITT or Knight Industries Three Thousand.

    Original Knight Rider Opening Video

The debut for this new series comes with the release of a 2-hour prelude featuring an introduction to the new KITT and how Mike Tracer (Bruening), a 23-year-old ex-Army Ranger became the new Knight Rider.

New Knight Rider Preview and Behind the Scenes

I have watched the new Knight Rider and it seems that KITT is really cool once again. The car is perfectly indestructible of course with the batteries on. Other than that well the plot needs a work on plus we have to see if the new main character played by Justin Bruening will be up for it.

  • STORY: 5 - means the depth of the story and the overall plot.
  • CHARACTERS: 7 - this pertains to the ability of the characters to portray their roles.
  • COHERENCE: 6 - ability of the story to be coherent as the episode progresses.
  • DEPTH: 5 - the effectiveness of the story to relay the full plot and to show the story of each character.
  • MUSIC: 7 - effective use of music in the story.
  • VISUAL EFFECTS: 8 - amount and effectiveness of special effects.
  • POPULARITY: 5 - relative popularity of the story/tv series.
  • RECOMMENDATION: 7 - my recommendation
  • TOTAL RATING: 6.25

  • Well I have made my rating for the movie and reserve a new rating for the new series. The new series had began filming this June and will be aired beginning September 24th... and I think I will be waiting for that.

New Knight Rider on E! News Daily

The features of the new KITT as stated in Wikipedia are:
    • 550 horsepower (410 kW) solar hybrid engine
    • Sports-tuned suspension
    • Xenon headlamps with infrared night-vision
    • Metallic paint with nanotech enhanced camouflage including morphing License Plate.
    • Military satellite access
    • FBI database access
    • Self-regeneration and damage repair
    • High-speed Internet
    • Artificial Intelligence
    • Voice-activated GPS
    • Apple Wireless Keyboard in the glove box under an accessory drawer
    • Biometric Interface to access security features.
    • Wireless headset to communicate with passengers within a limited distance.
    • Biomedical Scanner.
It is important to note that if KITT's Artificial Intelligence is offline, the self-regeneration mechanism is inactive, making it as vulnerable as an ordinary car. Part of the shutting down procedures of KITT's AI includes the release of the clutch pedal as well as a stick shift to allow manual control.

Other details from the pilot film:
    • Driving cross-country, KITT can average a speed of 191 mph (307 km/h) and travel 627 mi (1,009 km) in 3 h 17 min.
    • Although largely solar powered, KITT does use gasoline; with 91% of the energy being recycled, it averages 167 mpg (US) (1.4 l/100 km).
Instead of the famous communicator watch, KITT communicates with its operators via a wireless headset, and can access wireless phone networks. Since KITT can tie into numerous computer systems, it is able to emulate many of the functions of the watch, such as unlocking doors.

Coke had been one of the best selling soda in the world today. It has undergone many commercials and had given messages to promote its products. I was lucky to stumble upon a video on YouTube collecting the ads of this product. Well take a look at their ads throughout the ages and watch out for Ad #2 for it was particularly creepy. Seems like a brain washing thing. Enjoy.

Face Off: Hagibis vs VST and Co.

    Posted by David D'Angelo | 7/09/2008 12:18:00 PM | , , | 0 comments »
    ShareThis

Once upon a time the Philippine air waves was dominated by two groups which makes hit after hit. VST and Co. and Hagibis were among the two groups which had made a mark in the heart of the Philippine music industry back in the 1970s and 1980s.

VST & Co. was pioneered and the icon icon of the Manila sound, VST and Company performed disco fever songs such as "Swing it, Baby", "Magsayawan", "Awitin mo, Isasayaw Ko" and "Disco Fever". Hagibis on the other hand is a male sing and dance group famous for male hits like Katawan. The group is similar to the equally classic Village People{ in terms of style in music, muscular appearance and dances.

Here's the face-off and let see who's gonna win...

POPULARITY. Well it seems very obvious that VST and Co. out popularizes Hagibis. While searching for videos on YouTube we only find several videos of Hagibis impersonation but a ton of VST music. Well I give it to VST for their very solid music and style which makes their songs popular up to now.

STYLE and PERFORMANCE. Hagibis had edge on this side. The performance of Hagibis was more choreographed and brings impact to their performance against that of VST and Co.

MUSIC STYLE. Again VST outweight Hagibis in this face-off. The music style of VST is more the same as that of those made of classic music. Their songs had been immortalized in the Philippines. In fairness to Hagbis their top song Katawan may be more popular than most of the songs of VST.

GENERAL SUCCESS. I may say that VST anbd Co. and their members had been very successful in their fields. Despite being disbanded the members of VST had find their own path. Vic Sotto continued singing and beome a box office king same with Joey de Leon. Tito Sotto had been a senator of the Philippines and now heads the Dangerous Drugs Board. Val Sotto had been a good actor as well. VST songs are continued to be played up to this time.

Seems to be a one sided face-off but what can we do.. VST and Co. wins the battle. And now here are some songs which we managed to full out.

    VST and Co.

    VST and Co. Mix

HAGIBIS. Well sorry we cannot find any good videos of them.

Heroes TV Series: Can the Lost Glory be Recovered?

    Posted by David D'Angelo | 7/04/2008 09:21:00 PM | | 0 comments »
    ShareThis

The Heroes TV Series had been one of the biggest hit in television in the United States. It was supposed to be a great show offering a new perspective on heroes and villains but then everything got in the way. The strike of the Writer's Guild of America had cut the original Season 2 into just 11 episodes and made it look like a forced season. Now Heroes is coming once more with Season 3: Villains and the main question is will it regain its lost glory?

We have obtained a trailer video of the upcoming Heroes Season 3 which will begin airing this September 2008.

Season three will open with a two-hour episode, set to air Monday, September 22, 2008. The premiere of the third volume, "Villains", will be preceded by a one-hour clip show of the past two seasons. "Villains" was originally designed to be included within the second season; however, due to the writers' strike, the volume was carried over into season three. The lead-in to "Villains" featured a scene with Sylar, which was shown as the final scene of the "Generations" finale. Throughout Volume Two, Sylar's powers were suppressed by the Shanti virus.[28] After using a cure, procured from Mohinder Suresh, he regained his abilities, delivering the first lines of Volume Three, "Villains": "I'm back." Tim Kring has claimed that the new volume will bring a cadre of villains to the show, hence the title.

As for the reviews of Season 3... well let's wait until the show starts and we will tell you what we think.

The Purpose Driven Life is a devotional book written by Christian author Rick Warren and published by Zondervan. The book has been on the New York Times Best Seller list for advice books for 174 weeks (as of May 2006). The book offers readers a 40-day personal spiritual journey, and presents what Warren says are God's five purposes for human life on Earth. It is perhaps one of the best book towards knowing your God given purpose.

Rick Warren's book offers a journey towards knowing your purpose here on Earth. It offers to give you a perspective on how to live a life that is full of purpose and meaning.

His book is in fact a book of practicality with an inclination to religious view of things. I myself believe on what he has written for in fact we are here to make a difference and that is what God had made us to do though I do not see that religious sect has something to do with it.

  • STYLE: 10 - the writing style of the author.
  • COHERENCE: 10 - books coherence and ability to deliver its message.

  • But not all seems to believe that. Here is Dan Dennett, a Tufts philosophy professor and cognitive scientist, most famous for his books, Consciousness Explained (1991) and Darwin's Dangerous Idea (1995). In this talk, he responds to the presentation by Pastor Rick Warren, taking issue with claims in his book, The Purpose-Driven Life.

Movie Review: The Happening... What's Happening?

This movie was really weird. It portrays a seemingly weird occurrence wherein a certain sound and wave or sonic attack is being done in the United States. The Defense Department had concluded that it was a terrorist attack. Mark Wahlberg is the main cast of this movie and is seen trying to evade whatever is causing the seemingly atrocious and deadly behavior of people being affected by "IT". Well we could it "IT" because we do not know what it is.

The movie gives emphasis on the attacks and how the main characters tried to escape and eventually succeeded in escaping the so called happening. Throughout the movie you will wonder what is really happening and up to the end you will still wonder what the hell is happening in that movie?

  • STORY: 5 - means the depth of the story and the overall plot.
  • CHARACTERS: 8 - this pertains to the ability of the characters to portray their roles.

  • It is perhaps the trademark movies of M. Night Shyamalan wherein it concludes with an open ending and it is up to the viewers to conclude. Well whatever this movie tries to portray well I did not understand it or my level of understanding was indeed low.

The Cure and their Upbeat Music

The Cure is surely a band everyone knows. They give such stunning new wave songs that makes it to the disco in the 1980s. Their hit song Boys Don't Cry top the charts when it was released and everyone was hooked to their song including myself who was very young at that time.

Boys Dont Cry : The Cure

The Cure was one of the first bands to draw success even before there was a recognition of Alternative Rock. Their upbeat songs had been loved by the youth of the time.

Although they made some hit songs The Cure failed to sustain worldwide hit and slowly disintegrated during the 1990s. I remember only three songs that are really good hits which are: Boys Don't Cry and Friday I'm In Love.

    The Cure- Just Like Heaven

The rock band was formed in Crawley, Sussex in 1976. The band have experienced several lineup changes, with frontman, guitarist and main songwriter Robert Smith—known for his iconic wild hair, pale complexion, smudged lipstick and frequently gloomy and introspective lyrics—being the only constant member.

The members of The Cure first started releasing music in the late 1970s. Their first album, Three Imaginary Boys (1979), and early singles placed them as part of the post-punk and New Wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s the band's increasingly dark and tormented music helped form the gothic rock genre.
