Knight Rider will finally be seen once again on television. Teens of the 80s will sure remember the series featuring David Husselhoff as Michael Knight driving the famous K.I.T.T. or Knight Industries Two Thousand. This September 24th, 2008 NBC will be releasing the TV Series for Knight Rider featuring the new KITT or Knight Industries Three Thousand.

Original Knight Rider Opening Video

The debut for this new series comes with the release of a 2-hour prelude featuring an introduction to the new KITT and how Mike Tracer (Bruening), a 23-year-old ex-Army Ranger became the new Knight Rider.

New Knight Rider Preview and Behind the Scenes

I have watched the new Knight Rider and it seems that KITT is really cool once again. The car is perfectly indestructible of course with the batteries on. Other than that well the plot needs a work on plus we have to see if the new main character played by Justin Bruening will be up for it.

  • MUSIC: 7 - effective use of music in the story.
  • VISUAL EFFECTS: 8 - amount and effectiveness of special effects.
  • POPULARITY: 5 - relative popularity of the story/tv series.
  • RECOMMENDATION: 7 - my recommendation

  • Well I have made my rating for the movie and reserve a new rating for the new series. The new series had began filming this June and will be aired beginning September 24th... and I think I will be waiting for that.

New Knight Rider on E! News Daily

The features of the new KITT as stated in Wikipedia are:
    • 550 horsepower (410 kW) solar hybrid engine
    • Sports-tuned suspension
    • Xenon headlamps with infrared night-vision
    • Metallic paint with nanotech enhanced camouflage including morphing License Plate.
    • Military satellite access
    • FBI database access
    • Self-regeneration and damage repair
    • High-speed Internet
    • Artificial Intelligence
    • Voice-activated GPS
    • Apple Wireless Keyboard in the glove box under an accessory drawer
    • Biometric Interface to access security features.
    • Wireless headset to communicate with passengers within a limited distance.
    • Biomedical Scanner.
It is important to note that if KITT's Artificial Intelligence is offline, the self-regeneration mechanism is inactive, making it as vulnerable as an ordinary car. Part of the shutting down procedures of KITT's AI includes the release of the clutch pedal as well as a stick shift to allow manual control.

Other details from the pilot film:
    • Driving cross-country, KITT can average a speed of 191 mph (307 km/h) and travel 627 mi (1,009 km) in 3 h 17 min.
    • Although largely solar powered, KITT does use gasoline; with 91% of the energy being recycled, it averages 167 mpg (US) (1.4 l/100 km).
Instead of the famous communicator watch, KITT communicates with its operators via a wireless headset, and can access wireless phone networks. Since KITT can tie into numerous computer systems, it is able to emulate many of the functions of the watch, such as unlocking doors.

I really hope this is not true, because that movie they brought out last year was AWFUL!

What do you mean that you hope this is not true? You mean you don't want to have a Knight Rider TV Series?
