I have watched the first 4 chapter of Saw and I was always at the front of my sit with excitement and heart pounding at every scene and every second of this movie. Jigsaw and his influence and game was indeed a very disturbing scene in this movie. It is also the main source of the plot and excitement in watching the movie.

SAW 5 will be showing in cinemas around the world on October 24th. This new chapter in the movie will surely be another jaw dropper as Jigsaw continues his game through a new prodigy.

When I first heard about this movie I thought that it was just a plain horror-suspense movie just like the others but upon watching it I did see that it was more than your average movie. The puzzles and mazes in the movie will also be the puzzle and mazes that the audience will be solving with utmost curiosity.

Just Received My Heroes Comic Book from M80... Thanks!

I was excited when I hear that a mail just came and it was from BJ DeHut, Social Media Marketing Manager of M80 which is working on the Create Your Hero Contest on NBC and of course on the Heroes series as well. At first I though that it was not a serious mail because... well there are so many hoax in the net nowadays but the thing is it is true and I did read the comic in just one sitting. If you ask my take about it well it is really interesting and revealing specially the one regarding the 10 Brides of Takezo Kensei.

Heroes the comic book, illustrated by the late Michael Turner is an exclusive comic for the 2008 San Diego Comic Con. The comic includes 4 stories that reveal more about the Heroes Universe. The stories focus on the back stories of Mohinder Suresh, Echo De Mille (the main character of the new Heroes webisode series), and Adam Monroe (Takezo Kensei).

I have also scanned on the webisode series on NBC.com but was unlucky since the webisodes is not available in the Philippines. Hoping to see more I have look into the Heroes graphic novel and they are superb... great art work and story line. It seems that NBC is really trying to make a huge comeback this season.

As you all know I do rate what I encounter in this site so here is my rating for the Heroes Comic Book:

    • ILLUSTRATIONS : 9
    • STORY: 10
    • PRESENTATION: 9
    • LENGTH: 10
    • RECOMMENDATION: 10
    • OVERALL RATING: 9.60

So there goes what I think about this comic book... highly recommended read and a sure loss not to have read it.

If you want to read the Heroes Graphic Novel which is now at its 99th Episode (Hindsight Part One) just click on the image below:

I remember 3 weeks ago, I read a review about Will Smith's Hancock saying that it maybe one of the worst movies of Will Smith. His acting was even criticized as being mediocre. Just now I have finished watching Hancock and I would 100% tell all those who said that this is a flop and bad movie that they do not know how to really see a movie that is beautiful, artistically made and deserves 10 stars and two thumbs up.

Why did I say that those detracting Hancock is wrong read on...

Hancock is a movie which had moved me and taught me so much about life. The movie says so much about the hero in each of us. It is not just a movie of science fiction but depicts the present condition of the world. A condition where there are heroes of all sorts but who refuses to play their role and instead become the misery of others.

    Hancock Official Trailer

Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman) was the epitomy of a normal person who want to change the world and do good while Hancock (Will Smith) is the superhero which could already do something. It is a representation of society where those people who can already do something are not doing anything while small people are trying to make the changes.

Will Smith's character is perfect. It touches the hearts of the audience. I would like to tell those who are saying that he did not give justice to his role because he indeed gave so much justice to it. It can be lined up to his other movies. Will Smith had done it again and had touched the core of each of our hearts through this movie.

  • STORY: 10 - means the depth of the story and the overall plot.

  • RECOMMENDATION: 10 - my recommendation
  • TOTAL RATING: 10

  • Yes, you are reading it right. It is indeed a perfect 10 for Hancock. I do not care what Rotten Tomatoes is saying and the readers gave it only a 5.3/10. I would also like to debunk those who rate it 49/100 at Metacritic. FOr me, personally this is one movie that we should all watch. Highly recommended for the young as well as the adult.

It is even better than the Dark Knight. Why? Hancock spreads hope and unity... a message in which our world badly needs right now.

So if you have not yet watched Hancock please do.

Love Hina: An Anime With Humor, Romance and Great Lessons

    Posted by David D'Angelo | 8/10/2008 11:10:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Love Hina perhaps is one of the anime that I have loved and remember of course beside Hunter X Hunter that is. Love Hina is the story of the promise between Urasima Keitaro and Naru Narusegawa back when they were very young and their quest to be together at Tokyo U. During this wacky, humorous, and romantic story of their whirlwind romance the two had find love after all the adversities and the torture that Urasima had suffered from the hands of the Hinata Girls.

Here is the Opening of Love Hina in case you have not watched it in a while.

Love Hina had touched my hear as well with one of the songs which reminds me of my personal life. This is during the episode where Naru tries her luck as a singer and a star. The song is entitled Egao No Mirai E. It is a song which tells us never to surrender in life despite all the hardships and looking into a happy or joyful future.

Here are two versions of this song. The anime and live versions of Naru Narusegawa's Egao No Mirai E...

Love Hina - egao no mirai e 笑顔の未来へ (Anime)

Egao No Miraihe (Love Hina) Horie Yui

Here's my personal rating for Love Hina Anime...

  • STORY: 10 - means the depth of the story and the overall plot.
  • CHARACTERS: 10 - this pertains to the ability of the characters to portray their roles.
  • COHERENCE: 10 - ability of the story to be coherent as the episode progresses.
  • DEPTH: 10 - the effectiveness of the story to relay the full plot and to show the story of each character.
  • MUSIC: 10 - effective use of music in the story.
  • ART WORKS: 10 - amount and effectiveness of special effects.
  • POPULARITY: 10 - relative popularity of the story/tv series.
  • TOTAL RATING: 10.00

  • Well no bias there but I personally think this is one of the best animes ever to hit the market... love you all Shinobu Maehara, Keitaro Urashima, Naru Narusegawa, Mutsumi Otohime, Motoko Aoyama, Kaolla Su, Mitsune Konno,

Personally my favorite character is not Naru but Shinobu. Her cure and caring eyes seems to radiate the truthfulness of her heart... and mind you she also has a crush on Keitaro Senpai.

Here is a YouTube Tribute for Shinoby... the most lovable characters of the Hinata Girls...

Bit of additional info about Love Hina from our friends at Wikepedia:

The manga won the "Best Manga, USA Release" in 2002 Anime Expo. At Book Expo America 2003, Tokyopop announced that not only had Love Hina been among the top ten graphic novels on Nielsen BookScan's list, but it was also (along with Chobits) the first graphic novel to ever enter the general trade paperback list.

The anime was praised in a review by the Anime News Network for being very intriguing and for mixing "drama, romance, and slapstick comedy in a pleasing combination". The music was also commended for being "incredibly cute" and used in a way which contributed to many of the dramatic effects in the anime.

Superb Young Guitar Player Sungha Jung

While searching for good songs and videos in YouTube I stumbled upon the video of this young Korean kid named Sungha Jung and was amazed at how he plays the guitar. So amazed that I even saw his own rendition of Anak or Child by Freddie Aguilar. One of the songs that also amazed me was his rendition of More Than Wods. Here's Sungha Jung with More Than Word.

An amazing guitar player at a very young age. He may not be that good or he may not be playing perfect tempos yet for all his songs but the thing is for his age he was one superb guitar player.

    MUSIC QUALITY : 9
    PERFORMANCE : 9
STAR QUALITY (possible ability to become a star or artist): 9
    POPULARITY : 6
    RECOMMENDATION : 10
    TOTAL RATING : 8.60

Here is an except introduction from the guitarist himself:

Hi, I'm Sungha Jung from South Korea. My dream is to become a professional acoustic fingerstyle guitarist.

I had been watching my dad play the guitar for awhile before I finally jumped on it myself two years ago. I just turned eleven in September, 2007.

Currently, I am taking weekly classical guitar lessons and teaching myself fingerstyle guitar.

I used to not have tabs for the music that I played in my videos. I just listen and pick them up directly from the sound source in videos available on the internet. However, recently, I have started playing with original tabs whenever they are available to me by courtesy of the authors...
Now here are more performances by Sungha Jung to lighten up your day and let us start it with his rendition of Freddie Aguilar's Anak...

    Living On A Prayer

    Bubbly

I do not know who Colbie Caillat was at first and then my friends told me that they really love the song Realize. Curious as it was and since I already heard it on the radio, I decided to search it on YouTube and then there I know who Colbie Caillat is.

Colbie Marie Caillat is an American pop singer-songwriter and guitarist from Malibu, California. The popularity of Caillat's MySpace profile led her to become the number-one unsigned singer in her genre for four months. Her popularity on the social network was partially due to her song "Bubbly."

The songs on her profile have been played more than forty-two million times (as of May 31, 2008).[3] For the week of July 17, 2007, "Bubbly" was featured on the iTunes Store as the free "Single of the Week". The promotion coincided with the release of Coco, her debut studio album. Caillat was also spotlighted by Rhapsody during the 2007 Black Friday Sale at Best Buy.

    MY RATINGS OF THIS SINGER

    VOICE QUALITY : 10
    PERFORMANCE : 8
ABILITY TO EVOKE EMOTIONS : 10
    POPULARITY : 8
    HITMAKER : 10
    RECOMMENDATION : 10
    TOTAL RATING : 9.33
She is simply an amazing singer. I simply love all of her songs, from Bubbly to Realize to Battle and to the other songs that she sang. What I like about her songs is the fact that it depicts real life and most of us can relate to what she is singing about.

Let us now enjoy more of Colbie Caillat's songs...

A week ago I have featured Princess Diana as a candle in the wind and the best Princess of all time, now I am again presenting another candle in the wind and is perhaps one of the best actresses of all time. Despite the fact that I have never watched any of her film to actually make detailed comments about her I have learn from my grandmother when she was still alive that Marilyn Monroe is an astounding, beautiful and great actress. Coincidentally today is her 46th death anniversary. The Delano Observer would like to pay tribute to another candle in the wind.

Marilyn Monroe - Music: "Candle in the Wind", Elton John

    MY PEOPLE RATING:
    • Popularity: 10
    • Influence: 6
    • Importance: 10
    • Charisma: 5
    • Model Figure: 6
    • Eloquence: 7
    • OVERALL: 7.33

Here are excerpts from Wikipedia about her:

Marilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson; baptised Norma Jeane Baker June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962), was an American actress, singer and film producer. She won a Golden Globe Award, and in 1999 was ranked as the sixth greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute. After spending much of her childhood in foster homes, Norma Jeane Baker began a career as a model, which led to a film contract in 1946. Her early roles were minor, but her performances in The Asphalt Jungle and All About Eve (both 1950) were well received, and as her career progressed she became known as a sex symbol. She was praised for her comedic ability in such films as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) and The Seven Year Itch (1955), and became one of Hollywood's most popular performers.

On August 5, 1962, LAPD police sergeant Jack Clemmons received a call at 4:25AM from Dr. Hyman Engelberg proclaiming that Monroe was dead at her home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California. Sergeant Clemmons was the first police officer to arrive at the death scene. Many questions remain unanswered about the circumstances of her death and the timeline from when Monroe's body was found. The official cause of Monroe's death was classified, by Dr. Thomas Noguchi of the Los Angeles County Coroners office, as "acute barbiturate poisoning", which he recorded as a "probable suicide"

It has been claimed that Monroe was involved with both Robert Kennedy and John F. Kennedy. Jeanne Carmen, who claimed to have been a friend of Monroe's, also claimed she dated both. The affair with President John F. Kennedy was more lust-related, while the one with Attorney General Robert Kennedy was based on intellectual attachment. Monroe was devastated by each relationship, which both men failed to break the news to Monroe that they no longer wanted an affair with her. DiMaggio told both his son and attorney that "the Kennedys killed her."

Well while dropping Entrecard, I came across a review for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor which stars Jet Li and Brandon Fraser saying that it was a disappointment. Well, to be honest I was excited to see this movie based on what I have seen on the trailer and now I am even more excited to watch it and give you my own review of this third installment of The Mummy. First impressions sometimes is not that accurate. The same happens on Will Smith's movie Hancock, wherein the first reviews are rather negative.

I see an excitement and new twist in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and perhaps a closer look at the actors, the acting and the storyline should be made in order to arrive at a more accurate review. Sometimes feelings and high expectations makes up for a negative review.

However, I am not discounting that indeed The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is indeed a disappointment. Let us just wait and see when we view this movie.

KillerPopBlues, A Web Comic To Watch

    Posted by David D'Angelo | 8/02/2008 09:21:00 AM | , | 0 comments »

KillerPopBlues is a new web comic created by Zeigan. It revolves around a small group of close friends intertwined in a “i like her but she likes him and he’s a jerk” type of situation. Drama ensues. Zeigan tells us, "Look forward to lots of angst, confusion, and other emotional “rollercoasters” because, well, that’s what being a teen is all about. Isn’t it? I promise it won’t get boring and linear. I’ll even throw in some comedy." Well that is indeed a lot to look up to about. Now let us continue...

Based on the initial drawings Zeigan as I know him for more than 6 years have improved his art skills a lot. I remember that he had also draw arts for the BROOD Manga 2 years ago which we still hope to finish.

To compliment the crew for this webcomic Zeigan has two companions OriginalSkeleton and killer. You can read a complete introduction about them at the About page of the webcomic website.

Judging from the first two pages of the comic seems like a promising story and I know that Zeigan and his crew can pull this off. You have a lot to read and anticipate in how the stories would go.

Well of course a post here will not be complete without ratings. I am again creating a new rating system for webcomics and this is the first just for KillerPopBlues.

    MY RATINGS
    • Originality : 10
    • Creativity : 9
    • Art Quality : 9
    • Plot : 7
    • Web Layout : 9
    • Interest : 10
    • Presentation : 8
    • OVERALL RATING : 8.86/10
Originality simply tells us how original the story is including the characters. Creativity dwells with how creative they are presented towards the story. Art Quality pertains to the how finesse the art works were made.

Plot is a rating given to the overall theme of the webcomic. The fact that the plot given is a little usual so I gave it a 7. Web Layout pertains to the overall webcomic site design... looking forward to the store.

Interest pertains to how interesting the story might be and Presentation refers to how the story is presented through each of the page of the webcomic... well for me it seems to be too short of a presentation per page.

So here is my first rating and review at a webcomic called KillerPopBlues... hope Zeigan read this one.

I was puzzled about how SezWho works actually. I signed up most of my blogs for SezWho but it seems the system does not work as fast as it should be or as efficient as it should be. Posts are not being crawled and even the profile seems to be lagging behind in updating. I would not like to go all negative on SezWho because it has great potential but I think that the system needs further improvement.

This would be my first review on Info Tech here on The Delano Observer and I would like to give a few comments and points about SezWho, a system which has lots of potential.

    MY RATINGS:
    • Reliability: 3
    • Usefulness: 8
    • Efficiency: 3
    • Ease of Use: 8
    • Technical Support: 10
    • Speed: 4
    • OVERALL RATING: 6.00/10
Reliability pertains to the system's details indicated in the profile and on other data. It seems that SezWho is very slow in updating and crawling sites which are already members of the community. This affects the reliability, efficiency and speed of the system. That is why those 3 ratings receive the same.

Usefulness involves the relative idea on the use of the system. In SezWho, the commenting system and network of SezWho that they are trying to build is indeed very useful for bloggers and websites. Synchronization is now the key in the internet community and cyber world.

Efficiency refers to how the system works and how efficient it is for users.

Ease of use is the rating as to how easy most users can understand and install the system. SezWho has tutorials and step-by-step guides which makes its installation and use very easy.

Technical Support refers to the response time and friendliness of those handling questions and feedbacks. To this I gave them a perfect 10 because they respond to queries on time and even surf blogs in order to see feedback.

Speed refers to the response time of the system when a query is done. Again SezWho has a problem in this area. As of this moment more than 3 days had elapsed and it seems some posts and comments are not being recorded.

I hope that this review will constructively help improve SezWho. This is a great system and the idea is also commendable. Another problem I have is whenever I am blogging I accidentally type "x" instead of "z" in SezWho.. well that seems to be a problem on my part.
