MOVIE REVIEW: Rango

A taste of animation, kid's stuff, action and the wild west. That is how I would summarize my Rango Movie Review. Rango is a movie about a pet chameleon who is dreaming to have his own adventure and got suddenly lost in the Nevada desert. The movie is directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Graham King and features the voices of actors Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Bill Nighy, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina, Harry Dean Stanton, Ray Winstone, Ned Beatty, and Timothy Olyphant.

Rango, is a movie which is certainly not just for kids for it features both humor and action together. The slapstick humor added with very good jokes, animation and voice acting made the movie entertaining and fun.

The depth and lesson of the story was also commendable. It shows how someone can formerly be nothing and can eventually be for something despite the many odds that he/she has to face in life. In reality, most people try to lie so that other people can be impressed with them and most frequently these lies are of good intention. However, lies are still lies and if you really want to be someone you should strive to really be something and put your words into action.

A story similar to Forest Gump in terms of how lucky the chameleon is in turning the tides for himself, captures the heart of the audience by means of his words and actions. Rango, is naive and well tries to be something which he is not. In the end however, what the "Spirit of the West" told him means a lot not only for the movie but for everyone watching.

Now here is my rating for my "Rango Movie Review":

  • STORY:  10
  • CHARACTERS:  10
  • COHERENCE:  10
  • DEPTH:  10
  • MUSIC:  10
  • VISUAL EFFECTS: 9
  • POPULARITY:  10
  • RECOMMENDATION: 10
  • TOTAL RATING:  98.75%

Rango truly surpasses my expectation. If there is one character which I would remember from this movie except the main protagonist, that would be the group of singing owls and how they are eager to see the end of Rango. The expression and songs was really fantastic.

If you want to see a good movie then please do see "Rango."

Here is the song Los Lobos performed by my favorite owls...
